RakSIP


Raketu is not a telephony replacement service and cannot be used for emergency dialing.
You can attach ANY SIP device (hardware or software) to Raketu. You can add IP Phone, ATA Box, but also setup your mobile phone using SIP settings.
RakSIP offer
You can either activate the RakSIP settings by itself for (outgoing calls only), or with the RakIN number (outgoing and incoming calls), but not both in the same time!OR

RakSIP service is a paid for service. Make sure you have enough credits before activating RakSIP.- Activate from Website:
Login to Raketu website. And click on the green link in the upper right corner: “Signup/Activate Unlimited and other Calling Plans”
Activate from Raketu program:
Click on "services" in the main tab to open activation window.
- In section "RakIn DialIn numbers/RakSIP services" choose from drop down list "RakSIP service only: $0.99". You can also chose to renew RakSIP automatically every month. Click on the "Activate" button.


- Please wait for the RakSIP service to be activated, this may take up to 24 hours. This is one time activation.
- After RakSIP is activated, go back to the "Services activating window" see how to get there in step1 above. You will see the password you need to use RakSIP.

- If you need to find the SIP settings from Raketu program:
Tools->Options->Network Tab->Settings button. - You can use g711u (64 kb/s) or g729 (8 kb/s) codec.
RakSIP settings with RakIN number
RakSIP settings are FREE with RakIN number!- First you have to activate RakIN number. Click here to see how to activate RakIN.
- Once you will activate RakIN, you will see a link to SIP settings.
- Click on the SIP settings link, you will see the SIP settings you need. Yours will be different from the picture below.
- If you need to find the SIP settings from Raketu program:

Example of ATA device and simple config
We tested several devices and chose this one for simplicity, price and usage.
The ATA device is called: Grandstream HandyTone-486. SIZE (2.5 in x 3.75 in) and you can order it from the link on the right. It is not expensive and you can connect it with any phone you already have. Also this HT version can be plugged directly to your phone outlet and in the case of power failure you will still be able to make phone calls over your regular phone service. For more details see the manual for this device.
How to configure HT-486
- Connect the HT-486 to your PC and to the internet to set it up. Connecting this device to the computer is for the configuration ONLY!
- Open your browser and type this address: http://192.168.2.1
- Type password: admin into the window which opens. You can change the password later if you want.
- This will allow you to configure the ATA device. Make sure the page opened on the ADVANCED SETTINGS 1 tab. Enter your RakSIP settings in the top part of the configuration page. The rest stays as preset! All you have to do is to enter the fields marked red in the picture below.
- After you enter the RakSIP settings, scroll all the way down on the page and click on the UPDATE button.
- After you click on the Update buton, click on the REBOOT button.
- Wait for 30 seconds. Disconnect your PC and connect your Phone to the ATA device.
- Make a call! When you pickup the phone handset the ligt on the ATA device will be green. You are ready to make calls!
