My RakOut calls don't go through?
If you can't make a call, here is how you can troubleshoot.
- Make sure you are dialing phone number correctly.
How to dial phone numbers: US or Canada numbers (AreaCode + the number). For example New York: 212xxxxxxx. All other countries (phone numbers outside US or Canada),(011+CountryCode+AreaCode+the number). For example London: 01144xxxxxxxxxx.
- Change your password. Go to: File->Change password. Change it to six digit number like 444555, then log out and re-login to Raketu. Try to make calls.
- Reboot your network. Unplug your Router then unplug your modem. Wait 5 second and plug back in the modem first, then after all the lights are back on the modem, plug back in the router.
- Make sure your firewall or your anti-virus is NOT blocking these 3 components of Raketu: "Raketu.exe", "MessageWave.exe" and "RakOut.exe" . To configure your firewall settings click here.
- Make sure your router is NOT blocking inbound traffic (with some routers inbound traffic is already opened from manufacturers, but with some routers you have to make changes). To configure your router click here.
- Go to Tools -> Options -> RakIn/RakOut. Check the box “Use High Quality Calling“ if it is unchecked OR uncheck the box if it is checked. Then click on “Accept“. This will change the codec for Raketu calls. If you do not see any change in the call quality, uncheck the box and click on the "accept". The original setting is the most suitable for majority of computers.
- Go to Tools -> Options -> RakIn/RakOut. Delete the number you see in box next to "Use the following number for my RakOut caller ID" and do not forget to click on "Accept".
- In the Raketu program go to: Tools->Options->Network. There you will see SIP Port and next to it an entry field. Choose any number between 40000-60000 and enter this number into the entry field next to "SIP Port". Then click on "Accept" to save the changes. Try to make a call.
- If you are using two IP addresses:Open the Tools->Options->Network tab. Next to the SIP IP field check or uncheck the box “Use External IP” (if your system uses two addresses, you will see the SIP IP address change). Click “Accept”. Make a RakOut call. If you do not see any change in the calling problem, uncheck the box and click on the "accept" to keep the original settings.
- If you still experience login problems, contact our support: support@raketu.com Let us know what OS (Operating system) you are running, what internet connection you use and what firewall you have installed.
